What is of Smart cards?

Smart cards are highly secured. These are embedded with microprocessors that can encrypt and securely store information. Also the card's magnetic-stripe data reduces its chance of getting lost. Now a days, smart cards have chip operating technology which have the capability to check errors and user authentication facilities. Experts have also determined that a scanning electron microscope can outwit the protection built into a smart card.

The biggest advantage of using a contactless card is its flexibility. They not only can store multiple information including business and family contacts, credit cards, identification but also is more convenient to carry them rather than bundles of money. You just need a single card in your wallet to carry all sorts of monetary transactions. This type of chip cards can also be used to transfer money from one account to another.

One of the major benefits of using smart card is their portability. The card can not only be carried anywhere due to their small size but their mode of communication with the readers is wireless. These features help the users use the card in remote areas which lack the facility to provide wired online communication. Such ease of use offered by the contactless cards is also beneficial for the disabled and elderly people as they can access services and resources with greater ease.

A significant feature of contactless card is their ability to process information besides storing data. One can easily communicate with other computing devices through the smart card readers. The unique serial numbers embedded in the card can quickly identify the users. Moreover, as these chip cards can be electrically erased, they can also be easily modified as and when required. The information stored in the card can also be updated without the need to issue a new card.

Contactless cards also serve as the identity cards in medical sector. The microprocessor rooted in the card can encrypt and securely accumulate patient's personal health information which can only be accessed by the authorized doctors and medical staffs. Even the rules and regulations for accessing medical information can be imposed by the smart card, even when they are used offline. In addition, these cards support digital signatures which mean they can be used to determine that the card is issued by an authentic organization and that the data on the card has not been deceitfully changed.

The LRI2K is accessed through 13.56 MHz carrier electromagnetic wave on what incoming data are demodulated from your received signal amplitude modulation (ASK: amplitude shift keying). The received ASK wave is 10% or 100% modulated having a data rate of just one.6 Kbit/s while using the 1/256 pulse coding mode or possibly a data rate of 26 Kbit/s while using the 1/4 pulse coding mode.
Outgoing data originate from the LRI2K load variation using Manchester coding with one or two subcarrier frequencies at 423 kHz and 484 kHz. Data are transferred in the LRI2K at 6.6 Kbit/s in low data rate mode and 26 Kbit/s fast data rate mode. The LRI2K supports 53 Kbit/s in high data rate mode with one subcarrier frequency at 423 kHz.
